Fix It Yourself
Try these steps before calling. They resolve the majority of common GE Appliances issues.
1
Reset a GE ice maker by pressing the reset button
Most GE ice makers have a reset button or paddle arm. For side-by-side models, locate the shut-off arm in the ice maker and cycle it from the up (off) to down (on) position. For French door models, press and hold the test/reset button for 3 seconds. Allow 24 hours for the ice maker to produce a full batch.
2
Check the door gasket if your GE refrigerator runs constantly
A worn or dirty door gasket causes warm air leaks, making your GE fridge run continuously. Test by closing the door on a piece of paper. If the paper slides out easily, the gasket needs cleaning or replacement. Clean with warm soapy water first; if still loose, order a replacement gasket using your model number from GE Parts Direct.
shield Warranty & Coverage
