Use Lenovo Vantage for all driver updates
Install and open Lenovo Vantage (Windows app) → System Update. Vantage finds all available BIOS, driver, and firmware updates specific to your exact Lenovo model. Using Windows Update alone misses Lenovo-specific updates that fix battery, thermal, and compatibility issues.

Run the Lenovo built-in hardware diagnostic (Novo button)
Power off your Lenovo. Press the Novo button (small pinhole button on the side — requires a pin). Select 'System Recovery' or 'Hardware Diagnostics'. This runs Lenovo's built-in diagnostic tool without booting Windows — useful when Windows won't start.

Reset battery protection mode on ThinkPad
If your ThinkPad battery won't charge past 80%, Battery Conservation Mode is enabled. Open Lenovo Vantage → Power → Battery Charge Threshold and disable conservation mode or adjust the charge limit. Conservation Mode intentionally limits charging to 80% for long-term battery health.
