Wyze Cam only connects to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi — not 5 GHz
Most Wyze cameras only support 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks. If your router broadcasts both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz on the same SSID (band steering), the camera may try to connect to 5 GHz and fail. Create a separate 2.4 GHz-only SSID for smart home devices, or temporarily disable 5 GHz during Wyze setup.

Hold the setup button for a solid yellow light before setup
Press and hold the setup button (usually on the bottom of the camera) for 5 seconds until you hear 'ready to connect.' The LED should turn solid yellow. Then follow the Wyze app setup flow. If setup fails, check that your phone is connected to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi during the setup process.
